Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Bogotá Welcome to Colombia.
Transfer International El Dorado - BH Bicentenario

Day 2: Bogota – the colonial heart of the city
This morning explore Bogotá - Colombia's capital and for most Colombians the only real city of the country. Experience the city on a Guided walking tour of the colonial center La Candelaria to Plaza Bolívar where you Get to know the city’s rich and colourful history strolling through the narrow colonial streets before finishing at the Gold Museum where you Get an insight of the variety of pre-Hispanic cultures and the famous El Dorado legend. Enjoy the afternoon on your own in the Candelaria district close to your hotel.

Day 3: Medellín - a history of Transformation
20 years ago, Medellin was one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Back in the early 90s, when the hunt for Pablo Escobar took place, the head of Medellin's drug cartel was at its peak. Thus, the region of “El Patrón” came to its end. Until the turn of the millennium the struggles about Escobar's successor continued, but in 2002 Medellin began to change. Intelligent local politicians started to invest heavily in infrastructure and public education. Today the “City of Eternal Spring” is one of the most innovative metropolises in the world. Explore the city on an exciting tour through the history and present of Medellin and learn more about the transformation of this fascinating metropolis.

Day 4: Colombian Coffee farm experience
The Antioquia region, with its picturesque valleys, mountains and rivers, is one of the most beautiful coffee landscapes in Colombia and is among the most important coffee cultivation areas of the country. Experience the traditional coffee culture on a typical Colombian farm. The Finca offers insights into coffee cultivation and processing in combination with a professional coffee tasting and an introduction to the art of the Barristas. Stroll through the coffee fields and learn more about the cultivation and harvesting of coffee beans. Traditional lunch is included during this day.

Day 5: Guatapé Lake and the Peñol Boulder
The Peñol Boulder is one of the most spectacular destinations in the surrounding area of Medellín. The 200- meter-high monolith can be climbed with a staircase of 740 steps. Enjoy breathtaking views over the stunning surroundings full of green mountains and blue lakes. The village of Guatapé is famous for its church and its beautiful, colorful paintings that decorate the houses of the village. On this day trip we will take you on a scenic drive through the Eastern Highlands of Antioquia. You can climb the Peñol Boulder, enjoy a delicious typical Colombian lunch on the waterfront of the Guatapé reservoir (included in the price), explore the lake on a boat ride (included in the price) and take time to stroll and relax.

Day 6: From Medellín to the Caribbean Coast
Today you leave the Andean highlands and fly to Colombia's Caribbean Coast. The idyllic hotel is located close to the Tayrona national park. Enjoy the view over the Caribbean Sea and the Tayrona national park. Spend the rest of the day at leisure at the beach close to your accommodation.

Day 7 - Visiting the National Park Tayrona
With its white sandy beaches surrounded by rocky atolls, tropical forests and bathed by the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea, the Tayrona Park is one of the most impressive destinations of Colombia. It offers a variety of trails infiltrating the rainforest and archaeological sites, which were of great importance for pre-Columbian Cultures. We begin the hike from Canaveral through the tropical forest and along some beaches up to Arrecifes (approx. 1 hour) and continue to paradise, like the beaches of Arenillas, Piscina and Cabo San Juan (approx. 1 hour), where we have time to enjoy a swim in the sea.

Day 8: Along the coast to Cartagena & the Totumo Mud Volcano
After breakfast take the coast-highway passing by Barranquilla in direction to the unique city of Cartagena. Stopping at the unique mud volcano Totumo located on the shore of the freshwater lagoon Piojó, is a 20-meter-high exotic and natural wonder. With its warm and dense mud flowing permanently. Take a bath in the warm mud pool and enjoy the unique, relaxing experience. Inside the crater you can enjoy the healing mud which is said to give "efectos milagrosos" and a healthy skin. After spending some time in the mud, take a bath in the lagoon Piojó, and then travel to Cartagena.

Day 9: Colonial Cartagena & Caribbean Street Food
Cartagena de Indias is one of the most beautiful cities in America. Its fascinating history as one of the pearls of the time and largest slave port in the colonies, make it a place of big importance and colonial highlights. Today you discover the colonial heart of Cartagena in a dierent way. Bring your appetites and an adventurous attitude. Hit the streets to experience food the way Cartageneros do. Head to the historic center, where you can visit the plazas, churches and the most beautiful and important streets and buildings of the city.

Whether you are searching a stopover snack or something more substantial, a healthy start or a sweet dessert, Cartagena’s streets provide everything! One of the very best ways to gain an insight into the daily lives and culture of the locals is to experience their culinary culture. The walking tour will get you up close and personal with the real Cartagena as the street sellers fill our bellies with their delicacies and warm our hearts with their hospitality.

Day 10: National Park Islas del Rosario
Today you will enjoy a full day on the Caribbean islands. The Islas del Rosario are ideal for watching colourful coral reefs in shallow waters. Located 45 km from Cartagena Bay, the park protects underwater ecosystems, mainly coral reefs, inhabited by a multitude of invertebrate species and a big variety of fish. Extensive kelp and seagrass are also found in the park. Beautiful beaches are another hallmark of the park. A speedboat will take you to an island (1 hour). Once you are on the island you will have time to go swimming, snorkeling or kayaking (optional). Traditional lunch is included during this day.

Day 11 - Departure day
